So many awesome things going on this month! I've got my first public art show this Saturday! It's a little one but I'm vey excited to be a part of such an awesome group of creative people. I also just found out I got accepted to WonderCon 2013 in Anaheim, CA! I'm so freakin' excited and terrified all at the same time. It's the biggest show I've ever done. I've been to ComicCon several times and WonderCon is smaller but still, lots o' peoples...All very exciting! I will be reporting back with news of my adventures once I've survived them

I've been hemming and hawing over whether or not I should write the journal... I usually don't like asking people for things because, well I don't know, I guess I like being able to take care of things myself. This time, I'm at a bit of a loss. So here's what's up.

My cousin's wedding is in May and it's all the way in New Orleans. My boyfriend and I live in California so that's a good ways away. There isn't much wiggle room for us financially to fly out there and driving all that way would be almost just as expensive.. It'll be over $1000 just for plane tickets. I know it's not for 4 months but I figure the earlier we start saving the better chance we'll have of getting there.

My boyfriend is recently out of work so he's having a hard time contributing and I really don't want for him to dip into his savings.. It came out of no where so we weren't really prepared for it. Work for me has been really slow lately and so any income I get goes straight to bills etc. leaving nothing to set aside for this trip.

I know times are hard for everyone (another reason I didn't want to write this..) but I would really appreciate any help we can get. I haven't seen a lot of my extended family for years and this will the first time in a long time my whole family will be in the same place together.

So sorry for being absent lately. I've been bobbing to and fro on little trips to the mountains of California. I do seriously love me some beautiful fall leaves. ALSO! I got picked up to illustrate a children's book YAY!!! I can't say much about it though I will say that it involves doughnuts. I've been hustling and bustling with other little projects, paintings, and plushies! Oh the weird mini plushies I've been creating. Super fun, super silly plushies made of felt and hand stitched with embroidery thread. Woo! I'm going to try and be better about updating my page and writing journal entries..so we'll see how that goes. Hope you all are well! Also just so you know, lovely people of the DA community, my commissions window will be closing soon as Christmas crawls closer, so if you would like a little piece of custom art / creation or a print of something that already exists, don't be afraid to drop me a line. <3
